Official Rules

Serious Pickleball Tournament Creation Speed Challenge

A contest of skill. The fastest verified time wins. No purchase or payment necessary to enter or win. Open to legal residents of the United States and the District of Columbia, 18 or older. Void where prohibited.

Draft for attorney review. This page is the working draft of the Official Rules structured to counsel's guidance. It becomes official when counsel signs off and the "Draft" notice is removed. Dates, prize values and the governing-law clause are placeholders until then.

1. Sponsor

Serious Pickleball, LLC, 507 Front St, Unit #672, Summerville, SC 29486 ("Sponsor"). Questions: support@sptournaments.com.

2. Contest period

The Contest begins at 12:00:00 a.m. Eastern Time on [START DATE] and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time on [END DATE] (the "Contest Period"). Monthly periods run from the first to the last day of each calendar month, Eastern Time. Sponsor's servers are the official clock for all purposes.

3. Eligibility

Open to legal residents of the fifty United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry and who hold an account on sptournaments.com as an owner, manager or director of a club. Employees, contractors and immediate family members of Sponsor, and clubs designated as owned by Sponsor, are not eligible. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. [Counsel to confirm any states to exclude.]

4. No purchase or payment necessary

No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. Sponsor's tournament setup fee is not a condition of entry: an official time is recorded when an entrant reaches the payment step, before any payment, and a run counts on the leaderboard and for prizes whether or not the fee is ever paid.

5. How to enter

During the Contest Period, sign in to sptournaments.com, open your club page and start a tournament through either Guided Setup or Create Tournament, or ask a connected AI assistant to create one. Complete a qualifying tournament (Section 6) and continue to the payment step. Your official time is recorded automatically. Each qualifying tournament is one entry. There is no limit on attempts; each attempt must be a separate, genuine tournament. Practising beforehand is permitted.

6. What counts as a qualifying tournament

  • A genuine tournament name and a genuine facility, with start and finish dates in the future at the time of entry.
  • At least one event with at least one bracket.
  • Created by the entrant in person through the site or app, or by an AI assistant the entrant connected to their own account.
  • Not a duplicate of another entry, and not deleted before the end of the monthly period in which it was entered.

7. Timing

The clock starts at the server's time when the Guided Setup or Create Tournament screen is opened (for an AI assistant, at its first request on the entrant's account after fifteen minutes without one). The clock stops at the server's time when the setup-fee payment step is first requested for that tournament. Times are recorded to the millisecond and displayed to the hundredth of a second. Sponsor's server records are the official time; an entrant's stopwatch, screen recording or video is not.

8. Tie-breaking

If two or more entries record the same time to the millisecond, the entry whose payment step was reached first, by server timestamp, ranks higher. No tie is ever resolved by chance.

9. Posting your result

To be eligible for a prize, an entrant must publish a post about their result on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook or X that (a) includes the hashtag #SeriousPickleballContest, (b) tags or mentions @SeriousPickleball, (c) is public, and (d) is published after the run, and must submit the post's link on the tournament page on sptournaments.com. The post need only state the entrant's result; no opinion of Sponsor or its products is required or requested. Sponsor may verify posts automatically and by review. A post that does not meet these requirements may be resubmitted until verified. Posting is not required for a time to appear on the leaderboard.

10. Anti-cheating

Entries must be made by a person operating the site or app, or by an AI assistant connected to the entrant's own account through Sponsor's published connector. Bots, scripts, macros, automated form-fillers, direct API calls not made through a connected assistant, altered network timing, or any other means of manipulating the clock are prohibited and result in disqualification of the entry and, at Sponsor's discretion, of the entrant. Sponsor may disqualify any entry it reasonably determines to be fraudulent, abusive, or in breach of these Rules or Sponsor's Terms of Service.

11. Technical failures

Sponsor is not responsible for network, server or device failures that prevent an entry or affect its time. If a server fault demonstrably affected the timing of an entry, Sponsor may, at its discretion, void the affected time and allow a new attempt. Sponsor may suspend or modify the Contest if fraud, technical failure or any other cause impairs its integrity, and will announce any change on this page.

12. Winner determination and verification

The eligible entry with the fastest verified time in each monthly period wins the monthly prize; the fastest verified time of the Contest Period wins the season prize. Winners are determined on or about the fifth business day after each period ends, notified at the email address on their account, and may be required to confirm eligibility in writing. An entry is "verified" when Sponsor has confirmed the server time, the qualifying tournament, and the post.

13. Prizes and approximate retail value

  • Monthly: refund of the tournament setup fee if paid (ARV $25), waiver of the technology fee for every player registration in the winning tournament (ARV up to $10 per player, estimated ARV $[N] based on [N] players), and featured placement on seriouspickleball.org and Sponsor's social channels (no monetary value). One monthly prize per club per Contest Period.
  • Season: waiver of tournament setup fees for the winning club's tournaments for twelve months after the award, capped at [N] tournaments (ARV $[N]), plus a printed venue banner (ARV $[N]).
  • All entrants: display of the official time on the tournament page (no monetary value).

Prizes are not transferable and may not be substituted or redeemed for cash. Fee waivers apply to fees charged by Sponsor only and expire twelve months after award. Winners are responsible for all taxes; Sponsor will issue tax forms where required by law.

14. Publicity and leaderboard

By entering, each entrant permits Sponsor to display the tournament name, club name, official time and, where a post has been submitted, a link to that post, on the public leaderboard and in Sponsor's marketing, without further compensation, except where prohibited by law. Each entrant grants Sponsor a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce and share their submitted post and result card in connection with the Contest.

15. Platforms

This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with YouTube, Google, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Meta or X. Any questions or comments regarding the Contest must be directed to Sponsor, not to any platform. Entrants release each platform from all liability in connection with the Contest.

16. Release and limitation

By entering, entrants release Sponsor, its members, officers, employees and agents from any claim arising from participation in the Contest or the acceptance or use of a prize, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor's total liability to any entrant is limited to the approximate retail value of the prize in question.

17. Governing law

These Rules are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in [COUNTY, STATE]. [Counsel to confirm.]

18. Winners list

Monthly and season winners are published on the Challenge page for at least sixty days after each award.

Rules last updated September 2026. Draft pending attorney review.
